Change of employment
I am on L1A and got EAD approved for my GC application. My lawyer tells me I can switch job as my I-140 is approved for more than 6 months. Question— on what visa will I be if I switch now. If I switch , do the new employer has to apply a visa for me, if yes, what will they apply for? I am sure on switching the existing employer will cancel my L1A , will that impact my GC?

@D J I think employers directly can take you on ead and doesn’t need any further visa processing. however, they need to take care on i485j (my guess)

your i485 needs to be pending for more than 180 days not i140. new employer needs To file i485j

I'm pretty sure the role has to still be within the parameters of a multi national manager/exec though. I've personally swerved any changes until that GC is in my hand
