change of case status
Hello everyone,
I have a question about my I-485 case.
Last week my case status changed from “Case activity reviewed by USCIS” to “Your case is still being processed.”
I contacted a live agent through USCIS chat, and the agent told me that my case was transferred from the National Benefits Center to the San Antonio Field Office.
I already had my interview in 2024 for both forms I-130 and I-485.
My I-130 was approved, but my I-485 was not approved at that time because a visa was not available.
Now the agent told me that my case is in the queue for an interview, which confused me because I already completed the interview for the I-485.
My questions are:
1. Is it possible that USCIS will schedule another interview for the I-485 even though I already had one?
2. Has anyone had a similar experience where their case was transferred back to the field office after the visa became available?
3. Could this just mean they are reviewing my case again before making a decision?
Also, I am from one of the 75 countries under additional review, so I wonder if that could affect the process.
I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who had a similar situation. Thank you.

@modi egy Those agents give a lot of incorrect information. If you’re from a banned country, your case is most likely paused. You just have to wait to hear from them. Do not believe what the agent told you, as you can clearly see, it’s wrong information because you already had your interview.

Hi, when is your PD?

@modi egy Trust me, it makes zero difference with this current administration. Why do you think they approved your I-130 and withheld your I-485? Paused, restricted or banned are just verbiage they use to perpetuate their bullshit.
