Hello, everyone. I have a question. How can I change my name on my Social Security card? When I first applied, it was issued under my married name. But now, due to work-related reasons, I need to change it to my maiden name. With the renewal of my work permit, my name was updated to my maiden name. Is it easy to change it back to my maiden name on my Social Security card? I’m still in the process of VAWA and haven’t received any final decision yet.

yes you can, but you need to get a new EAD with your maiden name 1st.

if your EAD has your Maiden name, then go to Social Security Administration Office, they will amend it accordingly

all you need is your divorce decree, go. to the SSA and have them issue a new card with your maiden name.
