@r g Stuck with the CRP when the PD was current. Tried to reach USCIS with the SR but got generic response.

@r g, it doesn't make sense. You are current and should be getting approved.....not CRP!

I have applied in feb. my receipt notice also has received date as February. for some reason in case status it shows march 18th

There are no more visas left in the current year , hence it is under CRP. once the cases go to CRP, there is no definite time line. mine is under CRP from more than a year. welcome to the club. though it is current now, there are no visas. hopefully it will happen in October when they renew the visa numbers again.

@Arch Gowda they approve CRP cases among others everyday . why do you say there are no visas available?
Arch GowdaMay 19, 2024
I raised this issue with my congressman, he then contacted USCIS. USCIS then responded saying they have run out of allocation. the approvals that you are seeing have already been issued.

@Arch Gowda is there any way to determine if a visa is issued or not for a CPR case?
Arch GowdaMay 19, 2024
no, unfortunately there is no way to confirm this. it’s a black hole. once the case becomes CRP, it’s a black hole. we will never know. even when the new visa allocations begin, a majority of them are issued for new applicants and only a minority numbers are allocated for CRP. this is to usually maintain “shorter processing time metric”

it’s frustrating when your priority date is earlier, filing date is earlier and still waiting while new cases are being processed within 3-4 months! Wondering can someone refile, might be faster 😂
D PaMay 19, 2024
@r g, congratulations 🎉and you are too lucky
D PaMay 19, 2024
as per my observation, people with EB1A whose cases have gone in CRP in Nov2023 are getting approvals currently. similarly EB1C cases that went in CRP in Aug 2023 are getting approved currently
D PaMay 19, 2024
@Arch Gowda, what’s your PD? I see you are EB1B
Arch GowdaMay 19, 2024
there is absolutely no difference in EB1 A/B/C for visa allocations. they all come under EB1
Arch GowdaMay 19, 2024
my PD is Sept 9 2019

@r g - after biometrics did your status change immediately or else it took some time? we got our biometrics done 2 weeks but status is still the same
r
r gMay 19, 2024
biometrics status was updated pretty much immediately. as soon as we came out of the office.

based on the data, even with PD is current, EB1A, B , C have 40,000 visa number annually, but it also tied to 7% quota for each country, @r g meaning they had reached max 7% quota for Indian nationality unfortunately based on the CRP status.

Folks, there is data posted in USCIS website. As of Feb 2024 how many AOS applications by category and country. India EB1, total is around 10,000 people. Also, until 2017 December it’s only 2,000. I have faith that they did not run out of visa allocations yet. Please check and let me know if I am not reading the data correctly. thanks.
D PaMay 22, 2024
@Arch Gowda, are you on h1 or L1 and when is it expirying?
D PaMay 22, 2024
@r g , same question if you could answer. h1/L1 and when is it expiring?
Arch GowdaMay 22, 2024
I am on EAD + AP. Cases who receive CRP, will receive EAD after some months.
