Case ranking order
Why is each time a new case added in to my field of office, it would be added in front of me? For 4 months, my ranking has always been the 2nd last one, never changed. And people filed after me would be added in front of me. Why?

The dates and stats you get on here aren't something to be relied on. They are based on scraped data, statistics from that date (which is ever changing) and an algorithm. USCIS does not disclose this actual information and the most accurate way to track case progress is only through your own receipt number. Some cases will be prioritized based on the availability of a visa, expedited requests, who is filing on behalf of the beneficiary, etc. There are too many factors to count that would make a meaningful timeline possible. Try not to worry about this- it's not your matter, and you are carrying enough stress about your own. Hopefully there is some progress soon!

@Yichun According to Lawfully, the ranking algorithm is based on the specific step where each case in your group is located now, and the filing date (if the same step). So if new cases are added in front of you, it means they are either in a step ahead of you or have an earlier filing date.
