Case Processing update for K1 visa Changed today
My heart literally just sank into my stomach. All of January, the case processing said 7 to 9.5 months and serving April 2021. Today it says 9 to 12 months and serving February 2021. I am July 2021. How is this happening? Before Covid-19 this used to take 3 months maximum. I am. roken right now😔😭😢

trust in the god timing I’m March 15th 320 days and still waiting i have faith that I will have good news soon 🙏
Jackie & ArielJan 28, 2022
Same here. At first we were told 9 months to 1 year for the entire process and now its almost 3 years but then people crossing the border are together in a couple of days. Doesn't make any sense. 😢
mel GJan 29, 2022
it’s not actually 9-12 months for the entire process, that’s just waiting for the noa 2. after that, another several months of wait at the NVC, then embassy. And when finally you are together, another several months for ead and more than a year for green card. Having said that, I guess, being illegal is way easier. it’s a disgusting joke, it’s not even funny
Andrea MmasinachiJan 29, 2022
same here July 9th .. I was heartbroken to see that !😔😫
N
N AJan 29, 2022
mel G, unfortunately, you are right. it is sickening. im march 10. had to go overseas twice leaving my business and losing thousands of dollars just bcz i couldn't wait to see my fiance. its really hard and not healthy to have more than 4 months pass without seeing the beloved one.

zara RoshanJan 29, 2022
This is ridiculous have been counting days to meet my fiancé how long should we wait doesn’t make any sense how they work
Helena SimonJan 29, 2022
we all are

Amy TopsJan 29, 2022
@andrea mmasinachi I saw this yesterday, and I just said to myself, ‘you know what? stop looking at the processing time to avoid HBP.’ Mine is July 10th, a day after your pd.
Tatiane SilvaJan 29, 2022
same here July 6th …. I saw this yesterday. It’s driving me crazy 😩😫😤
Wehn AJan 29, 2022
Same here :( also from July
A
Amy TopsJan 29, 2022
@Tatiane n @ Wehn I don’t believe the updates are true because how possible is it to approve April filers and then start to process February….doesn’t make any sense to me.
E
Esther EstherJan 29, 2022
@Amy Temitope i agree. My sister said same. she said those updates may not be accurate. Either way it is emotionally draining. So expensive travelling now plus the covid crazy
A
Amy TopsJan 29, 2022
@Esther Esther, it would have been better to update an accurate date to have a gleams of hope
Jackie & ArielJan 29, 2022
Guys I'm going to start a movement to see if this changes. Hopefully it will work but something has to be done. Only becuase they say we have to wait that long, doesn't make it right.

@Jackie & Ariel: Many of us are single parents with kids, healthcare workers and also students while working and to worsen everything, we are being mandated at work every other day. I am a single mother of 2 little kids. I’m a cardiac monitor tech, full time nursing student with a full time job (night shift). I get mandated at work 2 to 3 times a week unexpectedly and this makes the babysitters so mad because my mandation at work disrupts their plans for the day, so I always lose babysitters. if I had my fiancé here with me, I will finish my nursing school with ease and also go to work without fear of how the babysitters will treat my kids because they are upset. That’s a little part of my story, aside from my health issue. So, please give them the reasons why they have to work on K1 visas or better still, they should spread it out to other service centers. Thank you
Jackie & ArielJan 30, 2022
Ok everyone please sign away and share on every facebook immigration group that you are in. The more signatures, the more attention.

guys dont worry. I'm just tired of not being able to be with my husband and I'm pretty sure you all are too.
A
Amy TopsJan 30, 2022
What I see in this issue is that K3 are being given attention now instead of K1. I don’t know why.
N
N AJan 30, 2022
it doesn't matter k1 or k3 or any kind of application. everyone applied to uscis is desperate. i started having the feeling that they use the covid issue to cover up their mess. while people like you and me who are health care provider being pushed to the front line.
Jackie & ArielJan 30, 2022
@ N A I agree. I work for a bank and we never stopped working. Most places have adapted and changed to keep running but immigration uses covid as an excuse for everything.
E
Esther EstherJan 30, 2022
I am a single parent. Even though I work virtually I am unable to travel because my kid has to be in school. And when I get to travel to visit my fiancé I either have to go with my son, or arrange for care for him or unable to stay long out of the country;: either way it is expensive.
Jackie & ArielJan 30, 2022
I have probably spent like 30k already in 2 years. It's too much
E

Me too. @Jackie & Ariel. I'm really spending a lot.

@Jackie Is there a way your petition could be edited to add how K1 visas is being delayed or processing time increasing?
Jackie & ArielJan 30, 2022
yes of course Amy. send me what you would like me to put in the petition and I will add it. I saw your comment under the petition, do you want me to add that or would you like to send it to me through here? I can edit it tonight.
A
Amy TopsJan 30, 2022
@Jackie my post is good, and I can’t keep wasting money to travel to Africa because it’s too expensive and not healthy because of the pandemic. Jackie, I’m sure others will have things to say too that makes them want K1 visas to be given attention too. Thank you
Jackie & ArielJan 30, 2022
ok will do Amy.
A
Amy TopsJan 30, 2022
@zara I don’t see any link to the meeting. When you click on the link, I only see you should put your email for subscription to all USCIS and government topics and some not relating to my case.
A
Amy TopsJan 30, 2022
Thank you Jackie.
Wehn AJan 30, 2022
Yes I agree, it would be nice to mention how this k1 processing time keep changing as well and is hard to make plans for the future when they keep changing stuff.
A
Amy TopsJan 30, 2022
It’s very disheartening because I have my father’s I-130 stucked in NVC since last year. I didn’t hear anything from them after I submitted documents and fees. Then, I decided to put in K1 for my fiancé because I felt it was a short time, and now this is all happening. So, I have 2 applications all stucked in Immigration offices (1 in NVC, and 1 in USCIS). My father can’t even come visit, , and now K1 is brushed aside, at least I will have one of them to be with me because of my kids instead of having those feisty babysitters watching my kids. It’s so crazy.

Previous administration was extremely anti immigration even LEGAL immigration. They froze processing of K1 for several months so now there is a backlog of cases for the foreseeable future.

E
Esther EstherMar 6, 2022
@Amy Tops. yeah. let's keep praying. I videocall with my fiancé at least twice everyday and we text too multiple times a day. You're ahead of me so I will be on the lookout for you too.
Jackie & ArielMar 6, 2022
you guys I sent the K3. out lawyer told us not to but I did it anyways since everyone is having really fast results from sending it. look into it
A
Amy TopsMar 6, 2022
@Esther: My fiancé and I talk everyday after his work ….sometimes, we just doze off on the phone while talking. We just use the time to make our relationship tighter. I’ve known him since my childhood….It’s not easy, but we will get there. 😊 I listened to the zoom session on 03/02. I just hope they implement all the processing time suggestions the public gave. it will go a long way to know the real estimate time of when each will get a decision on his or her case.
A
Amy TopsMar 6, 2022
@jackie: The K3 is faster than the K1 especially K1 filed with a Nigerian fiancé. Unfortunately, I can’t do K3 because I filed K1, not yet married. Going to Nigeria to marry now will require I file the I-130 and that will mean canceling the K1 and starting all over agin with I-130.
Jackie & ArielMar 6, 2022
I think you can still do it but you have to pay the fee. Either way the K1 is supposed to be faster than the IR1 or the CR1. Let keep strong everyone.

K1 processing time changed to 10-13 months….date went back to February
