case moved to field office
Has anyone gone through a similar situation? I changed my address on USCIS site on Aug 27. Then, the next day I chatted with a live agent who told me my i485 application was transferred from NBC to Dallas Field office on Aug 24 and was last reviewed on Aug 25. I’m worried that this change of address will further delay my case as it will require my case to be transferred again to the field office of my new address.

No I think it’s a good sign. It means your case is processing. Most cases are getting transferred to local field offices these days. But, I’d say, be ready for a Green Card interview.

If your new address is in the same city and state, you should be fine. However, if your old address is in a different state, your case may be transferred again, which could delay your case.

@Oliver Farm I had a similar situation. My I-485 was transferred from NBC to the Dallas Field Office. From what I understand, a change of address does not necessarily mean a significant delay, but USCIS may transfer the case to the field office with jurisdiction over your new address if needed. Since your case was just reviewed on Aug. 25, I would give the address change some time to update and then ask a live agent which field office currently has jurisdiction over your case.
