Case is being held for review after interview
Hello everyone, I had my interview May 16. Everything went smooth however at the end of the interview, I was giving a letter that states. ‘’ Case is being held for review’’. it has been one month and my status has not updated anything. I haven’t gotten an answer anybody else in the same situation? How long did it take to get approved or has anybody had a bad history with this letter? Thanks so much.

@annnnn na . I had my interview on 5/28/24 and was given same letter but my case was approved same day. I think the letter is a positive sign.

I had my interview on June 11 at Houston and officer told me that she approved my i130 and for i485 she will review within a week. However there’s no update on i130 which she verbally approved. Hoping for the best.

@annnnn na the letter literally means what it means that the case is held for review.....
However what happens sometimes is that the officer needs a supervisor to approve the application after review or if anything unfamiliar came up during the interview the applicant maybe called in for a second interview.Generally it takes 120days for USCIS to make a decision after an interview and if you don't hear anything by then other factors may come into play

yes, I understand what that letter means but I also heard that the letter is being given to everyone almost that’s why I was asking. How long is it taking to get approved?
