may some people lean how tell the truth when you apply for some immigration benefits the government make a big background check on you and who apply for you if one of you has a bad background check thing sure that your case will move slowly so all case are not same

I applied for I-130 for my mother on August 6, 2021; got an update on January 26, 2022 that case is actively being reviewed. Been waiting since then. Wonder how long it will take until we get an answer.

I submitted my application March 2021. As of May 2021 it’s been actively being reviewed. 1 year after submitting and almost 1 year of being stuck in the same status. :((

Why dont you call USCİS and ask to speak to a supervisor; it may help when a case is stuck like that.

I guess It depends on the age of the applicant, the petitioner, and the state you are applying from. I had two cases applied the same day in November 2019 in Texas by their parents. One adult and one minor. The minor is here and the adult case turn to actively being review 2 months ago. Please be more informative about your case with this information because cases are different.

the next step after actively reviewing always depends. it can be either RFE or interview scheduled or biometrics appointment- all depending on where you’re Case is to start with. it regardless of anything means, they have your case in their hands and are actually looking over it.

i mean, I send them the forms and all the supporting documents they needed for the forms. so for me they had the case being actively reviewed. I went to biometrics. I got afterwards the rEf for some more additional documents. it then took forever for them to review those (a second time case is being actively reviewed) and then eventually at some point they schedule interview & then eventually at some point they say oh congrats. or they w being annoying and let you wait 120 days for you to get frustrated again :D because everything is a wait

but that’s just in my personal case :D it can be different. some are being approved on the spot at the interview some people don’t. it always depends what officer has your case in first place and to which officer it goes next.

Hi everyone, i got an update yesterday that my case is approved. I applied for my mom i-130 on August 6 2021. Case had been actively reviewed since January 26 2022. Now May 3 2022 case is approved. Case will be transferred to NVC. We are waiting for next course of actions. The notice said we will get notification with 45 days from NVC.

My brother submitted an I-130 alien relative application for me on July 30, 2022. As of today, August 2, 2022, It's actively reviewed by USCIS. My brother is a US citizen and I am a Canadian citizen. We'll see how long it takes.

@nefertiti, the same thing just happened to me and thats what brought me here looking for answers. Petition for minor child submitted as permanent resident sept. 3, 2021 and changed to actively reviewing dec 3, 2021. Letter of relative category upgrade request sent July 8, 2022 as a citizen. Received Status update notification and when i checked, it was case actively being reviewed, except with a new date August 20, 2022. Could this just be a update because of the letter i sent? Im concerned it would rest my priority date.

Update! The petition was approved! I found other threads with helpful information regarding a case status being updated a second time with "case being actively reviewed" it most likely means the case has been approved.
