case approved
Hey guys I got approved for my green card and today my wife received it in the mail. However I am currently out of the US and I am in the Caribbean (where I’m from). I had to leave due to the fact that it is my mother’s one year death anniversary and I wanted to participate in the one year hindu ritual since I missed out on her funeral. I have in my possession my travel authorization and wanted to know if I may have any issues getting back in the US. Also I would like to know when should I expect to get my social security number?

I will advise for your wife to bring it personally if she can because sometimes packages get misplaced and one should not take chances on his or her green card.

no worries as long you have an advance parole handy or travel documents. if they give you any hard time at the airport just get them to call the uscis and get your wife take a clear picture of your green card front and back.

You'll be fine, the officer will just say welcome home, no need to mail it.
