Card returned to USCIS
My EAD card based on VAWA approval was mailed to me but it went to my old address and the forwarding has expired in August. Will USCIS automatically try to send it again? I still went ahead and submitted a “I didn’t get a notice by mail” request on their website.
I am so upset with myself & USCIS because I completely forgot to extend the forwarding address and they have refused to update my address even though I mailed a change of address and did it online multiple times. They also didn’t send me a tracking number until they updated that the card was returned so I didn’t know it was going to the wrong address.
Has anyone ever had this issue? how did you rectify it?

uscis does not honor forward mailing address,go ahead and update your address and try calling them. Best wishes

I have already tried changing address with them multiple times. even when I did my expedite request @coolbabe law they approved expedite and approved my case but never changed my address. it’s the weirdest thing. I am unable to call them because they only respond via mail for vawa applicants. it’s all so frustrating

@tired from waiting I am a vawa applicant, if I call, they never give me info. they just tell me to write a letter to Vermont. and when I do that, no one respondes. it’s such a frustrating circle. I sent letters and change of addresses about 4 times now

@Zara A I had the same issue…Try and call the post office where the card was delivered and talk with them, the card might be still there…tell them to hold it for you so you can pick up in person, you will need some form of identification. USCIS will not resend automatically you will have 60 days to contact them tell them to resend if not they card will be destroyed and you will have to ask for a new one.

@Yuujirou Hanma unfortunately when I reached out to the office the card had already left back to USCIS. I submitted a e request asking them to resend it and made sure to extend my forwarding so hopefully they resend it soon. thank you for the information

@tired from waiting it’s so frustrating. but yes I finally extended it and submitted a request online to resend my notice so hopefully they resend it this week.

I had to reach out to my congressman office and they helped get it to me
