Our appointment was set for 0900, but we weren’t called until around 0915. The IO was very nice with us and the interview went smoothly. He first requested our documents (passports, birth certificates, marriage certificate and I-693), and then he asked my husband his name, his bday, my name, my bday, when we met and where we got married. Turned to me and asked me my name, my bday, his name, his bday, when we got married and some yes/no questions.
The conversation turned more casual after this. We showed him different things like our wedding album, and gave him a compilation of pictures, bank statements and health insurance, chatted a little bit more and told us of our approval.
It lasted about 20 minutes. Another 20 minutes after we got out, I got the notification!
Feel free to ask anything you want! And great luck for all!

@MarlyyBaybee Balde, open a joint bank account (some banks don't need SSN), Add your name to the apartment lease, utility bills also, print pictures of various outings, evidence of trips you had together within or outside the USA- such as flights tickets. If you want to be on your spouse's tax, get an ITIN from IRS. If you have kids together, add their BC and family pictures

@Marlyy we gave him a compilation of our pictures. I focused on pictures where we were in family or groups with other people other than each other. I think I gave them aprox 50 different pictures.
I am on my husband’s bank account. It’s a BofA account. We took a copy of our marriage certificate and they added me.
We have health insurance together. We gave them support of that.
We also gave them support of our trips together: airbnb/hotel receipts, tickets, etc. It was mostly about me coming here to see him, so we filed my plane tickets, tickets for the both of us for the domestic trips we took. One curious thing: my country doesn’t have direct flight with the US, so -while holding my passport- the IO asked my husband “are there direct flights from her country? How does she come here?”. Those details are important to know.

Thank you everybody! This community helped me a lot to deal with my immigration anxiety!
MarlyyBaybee BaldeApr 13, 2021
will do you think they will judge you if you don’t have travel or hotel ticket because me and my husband we don’t travel like that because my husband is scared to travel outside thinking his not allowed if he don’t have work permit etc.Since we been together we never traveled we only stayed in NY

@MarlyyBaybee Balde, it is not necessarily traveling outside the country. He can travel anywhere in the USA, even though it is not everyone that has hotel and tickets. It is just better to share more things together, which can be shown to USCIS - it helps your case.
If you dont have travel documents, get other things you do share together.

@Marly what you need to show is anything that “tells” the story of your relationship. Nothing is mandatory, but you will want to show them “this is how things happened”, and that you have a life together. If you have a lease together, insurance together, a bank account that you both have access to... It’s about having proof that you love each other, that you have trust, or plans for the future... I would say they want to see that you both are invested in the relationship, and that manifests differently for each couple.
If you have a neighbor/family member/friend that is close to you and your husband, ask that person to write a Bona fide letter. It’s a letter that states that, to their knowledge and experience with you, your marriage is viable, loving and not for purely immigration purposes. You can find examples for that online.
