When I applied for my Canadian visitor visa, I submitted: • Valid passport • Employment Authorization Document (EAD) • Advance Parole document/card • Pending I-485 receipt notice • Pending I-360 receipt notice • Employment verification letter confirming my employment, approved leave, and expected return to work • A notarized employer letter • A screenshot from my employer’s website showing my profile as an employee • Three months of bank statements • Cover letter explaining the purpose of my trip, my itinerary, and that I would return to the U.S. because my employment and pending immigration case are here • Invitation letter from my sister (since I was staying with her) • Copy of my sister’s passport data page • Photos of my sister and me to show our relationship • Travel insurance • Travel itinerary I didn’t include a hotel reservation because I was staying with my sister. If you’re staying with family or friends, an invitation letter and a copy of their ID or passport are usually appropriate instead. If you’re staying in a hotel, then you should include a hotel reservation. Every application is different, but my goal was to show that I was lawfully in the U.S., had sufficient funds for my trip, had strong ties to the U.S., and intended to return after my temporary visit to Canada. Goodluck.

Last year. The official IRCC website has the most current information on how to apply, required documents, fees, and processing times. That’s the best place to get accurate information since requirements and timelines can change.
