no you cannot . You have to apply for an I-131 travel document, the reentry permit. That’s the only passport you can use going forward till you become a citizen

if I am a lawful permanent resident and my Green card is under reviewing process Can I travel to my country?
King NMay 30, 2022
I had refugee travel document but it expired 2 months ago, I submitted a new one just last week, but my green card got approved on May 27, 2022 3 days ago, now I want to travel to Canada once I receive the green card. but I read on the website of Canada that I have to possess both U.S green card and passport to go there. I know travel document will take 3 or more months to get approved and I need to travel in the next 2 weeks. But my passport still valid though.

Unfortunately it doesn’t matter if passport is still valid . I was once in your situation. Got a green card and still kept applying for re-entry permits . I had applied for 4 of them before I became a citizen . Canada will have to stamp your re-entry permit not your country’s passport.

Vicky Israel my asylum got approved in August 2020, I was in removal proceedings so it took me like 7 months to get approved, and I applied for green card on November 2021 and it got approved 6 months later. I’m now a permanent resident, but my card is still not sent to me yet.

You cannot go to your home country if you got GC with asylum. I thought you claimed your home country isn't safe to be considered for asylum why go there again? But you can go to any other country even with your passport.
King NMay 30, 2022
time bound, Ok thank you I hope I don’t get in trouble when coming back from Canada while in possession of my country passport.
King NMay 30, 2022
Jackson U, I’m not trying to go back to my home country, I am trying to go to Canada with my country passport and green card

ooo ok, yeah you should have both valid docs: passport and GC.
Rocco FortéMay 30, 2022
You mean the same country you are running away from? of course you cannot
King NMay 30, 2022
Sorry guys, but I literally said I’m trying to travel to Canada not to my home country which I claimed persecution. I’m not in possession of valid refugee travel document or re-entry permit reason why I am asking if it is possible to use passport from my country plus my green card to go to Canada ? Again I’m not going back to my home country.

maybe best to consult with a lawyer and see. I just know I never did so after even becoming a greencard holder

please if you don't know the right answer to a question please don't answer 🙂 nobody is stopping you from using your home country passport, but your asylum revocation is possible incase you find yourself in any trouble. you don't use anything that concerns your home country. you should go Google it out.

@Yan N Did you receive any RFE notice and also if you don't mind me asking what is your country of origin. I'm just curious I know it's totally off topic
