it wasn’t an easy journey at all… there were several obstacles..
1) No one was there to help me to do all the paper works except my God ( didn’t have any idea about the process n procedures at all)
2) Got the RFE - they didn’t get my joint sponsor’s affidavit of support in my application package
3) EAD got approved and got the combo card but there were a spelling mistake
4) Since there were a spelling mistake in the card, couldn’t apply for SSN or for driving license
5) Interview was on March 11. On interview day, we reached the FO at 9:55am for the 10:15am’s interview. from 10am to 12pm, we were waiting in the lounge for our turn. and there were something wrong with the toilet drainage in the Field office and my Interview officer was really upset that she couldn’t have her food because of the bad smell coming out from the toilet which is next to her cabin.
6) Due to some technical difficulties, the officer was not able to access my file and she couldn’t even take the printouts of my application. Another officer helped her to do that.
7) Interview was really tough.. since we are newly married, they separated us and interviewed us for 2hours.. 2 officers were there to conduct the interview. at the end they became satisfied with our story.
8) Then, the officers couldn’t see my joint sponsor’s affidavit of support in my file (which I sent 2 times to the USCIS. first I sent it with the initial application package and then I sent it as my RFE response)
9) the decision was on hold for the past 1 and half months.
finally, the case got approved only by the grace of my living God. NO ONE or NOTHING CAN STOP GOD’S PLAN FOR YOU

the anxiety doesn’t stop until you have the card in hand. It will happen in God’s grace. I have been waiting for 2 months now since my interview and haven’t heard anything 😖 hopefully soon 🙌

the interview was very simple. but the officer also couldn’t access our files but he said he could tell our marriage was real and that he will approve but haven’t heard anything since. I do believe God will work his miracles. I have faith in him 🥰🥰

I got EAD on Jan 15. then lot of things crossed my mind like - on Jan 26th my interview got scheduled. so I thought I need to bring this to the interview with me and need to rerun it to the interviewing officer when my green card gets approved on the spot. so if I send it back for correction may be it won’t get back before my interview and all…. so I didn’t send it back for correction.. but nothing happened on my interview day…they didn’t approved my case on spot so they didn’t ask for my EAD n all.. then I waited for 2weeks to hear from their end… nothing happened then I sent my combo card back to the USCIS for correction. after that also didn’t hear anything from them. used to contact them regularly. after 30days they said there is no update on your combo card correction request and asked me to keep waiting. I think they were waiting for my Green Card approval. so that they don’t need to print my Combo card. This is what happened in my case

@dolly dolly : few things made the officers to be suspicious. they are
a) I came here in visit visa.
b) we are family friends for years and we didn’t hide it from the officers. we said the truth that we know each other from our childhood days.
3) we both are currently unemployed and that’s why I needed a joint sponsor.
so all the questions were regarding our “love story”. when they asked me how you met him, I answered we know each other from our childhood days. then they asked why I visited US ? I said me n mom came here for vacation. then they might have thought like “ohhhhhhh so she came here in visit visa on purpose and fooled the authorities to get the visa and after coming here trying to fool them again with a fake marriage with the help of her family friend” I don’t know may be these thoughts made the interview to last for 2:05hrs. so the questions were completely related to our personal life.
same cast, same religion but my husband is 7 years elder than me.
this is not everybody’s case. so don’t worry… no need to be tensed… these days most of the people having easy interview experience..
FO was Tampa.
