my names on my birth certificate and all of my other documents are the same just my first name is left blank on my birth certificate which is kind of annoying

yeah as I speak to you he has his ead & green card these happens last year august

mas obi did your friend submit the birth certificate which didn't have his first name to uscis? or he realized it and changed it before submitting?

he had an RFE same as yours after submitting his application he got an RFE

call any of your relatives back home or parents to go work on it
