based on a pending I-485
I submitted a case inquiry to USCIS asking them why were they taking so long for the approval I filed July/5/2022 case was updated to show fingerprints were taken in 9/12/2022 and it’s been like that sense send in everything family pictures, medical ,and a lot more got the reply for the inquiry a month after and said it was supposed to be requested electronically I’m guessing because my lawyer filed everything electronically

@Nana J Nana, have you attempted to chat with an agent via EMMA? You can get some valuable information through the agent. Also, check if your case is past the deadline for adjudication, try contacting your local representative.

it’s just depressing frustrating..anxiety it’s been bad I’m just so tired of waiting it’s crazy how long there taking even when they have everything already ..so my lawyer is sending the inquiry electronically already see how it goes I’m hoping to get an approval soon 🙌🏼

@william u yes I have and I can’t get through 😔
William uJan 4, 2024
@Nana J I completely understand how you feel, but you can't just rely on your attorney. Be proactive on your case, reaching to USCIS on your own through EMMA or sending an inquiry yourself.
Nana JJan 4, 2024
I did send an inquiry on nov 27 they responded Dec 27 just to say the inquiry has to be submitted electronically
William uJan 4, 2024
@Nana J How did you submit the inquiry?
Nana JJan 4, 2024
now it says my fingerprints were applied to my case what is that even mean or what’s next do you know
William uJan 4, 2024
@Nana J Well that's a step forward, keep a close eye on your case. Go to the USCIS website and and chat with an agent.

You can sue USCIS on your own, and much cheaper, my friend did it for his delayed case, and got papers within 45 days. Youtube "writ of mandamus pro se" there is a channel Immigration Aid helping people.
Nana JJan 5, 2024
thank you David I will search it up
William uJan 5, 2024
@David G Yes, anyone can sure USCIS but technically not everyone can! First, suing USCIS does not gaurranty you will win and then will adjudicated your case within 45 days. Second, you make it sound like it's super easy. Some individuals may be more informed, educated and prepare then others. Results will vary.

@Nana J Tip, when you reply on lawfully app use the "@" and then select the individual person you are talking to directly notify them. We don't get notifications automatically like the OP does when a comment is made. Regarding Emma and the agent hanging up on you, that can happen but keep trying until you get an answer. Also, don't ask for a "status update on your case", if you they will just hang up or tell you to check your account. Change your wording, instead ask" my case was submitted a year ago half ago, I haven't gotten any updates. Do you see any issues or holds on my case?"

I ask my lawyer the same thing why is my case taking longer than expected she couldn’t give an exact response other than “ it depends how fast the officer with your case works, we have to wait till July 2024 to submit an inquiry “. I submitted my own but haven’t heard anything it only says “ On February 2, 2024, your inquiry about why your case is taking • longer than our processing time, was completed “ . I did my finger prints already and they haven’t been updated to my case it been stuck on “ case is being reviewed by USCIS “

I did mines nov 27 they responded Dec 27 and they wanted to do the inquiry via electronic my lawyer did it and haven’t heard anything yet they said from 24 months to 28 months but I seen July of this year wasn’t moving at all now they passed people from 2022 by percentage
