guys I need your honest advice please I’m in very stressed timeline in my life
I have reached out for an attorney to handle my case in 2019
I got married to a USC in 2018
I was in removal proceeding in 2019
reached out to a very famous and intelligent lawyer
paid almost 20k (20,000 usd )
filled I 130 in 2021
waited to get the court dismissal to file i485
we got the court dismissal on may 2022
filed for i-485 in June 2023
November 2023
got the email saying i485 administratively closed
today I got the rfe for I-130 asking previous marriage documents ( I believe which my lawyer has already attached with the application )
so I’m back to square one
wasted my time for this since 2019 to 2023
no work permit
no advance parole
already invested in this proces emotionally and monetarily 20k for lawyer plus other uscis fees
want to hear from you guys
I really need some good advice plz

dismissed or terminated or administrative closed ? u want it to be dismissed or terminated and not administrative closed (this is not dismissed ) they only take out ur case out from the docket but still in the system.
ur lawyer is idiot, why did he file I-485 while ur I-130 still not approved and ur removal proceeding still in administrative closed ?

@domino 23 exactly 👍 the lawyer should have never filed the i485 until the i130 is approved they apply to the court with the approval to close his case

Your Lawyer did it the wrong way. he was not meant to filed the 485 until the 130 is approved.please get experience lawyer that know what he or she is doing.

his court case is administratively closed, not terminated.
so good news is that uscis is looking at your I-130. you need I-130 approval, ir is very important.
send them as many documents from their list as you can. Even if you already submitted it, they want to see the updates since 2021.
you will get work authorization.
you will not get advance parole.

im under removal proceedings too my I-130 still pending
my lawyer explained that when its approved we go to judge to get it terminated (my court case was administratively closed back in may )
i cannot file for I-485 yet but i do have work permit through my pending deportation case
i can also ask judge to grant me status ( i believe) im under 245i
good luck don’t lose hope verify if court case is administratively closed or terminated
