beautiful thing - the first asylum EAD petition is free of charge to the petitioner. each renewal afterward has a $495 application fee. that doesn't include biometrics fees of $85, which are due on your biometrics appointment date.

how long does it take to issue the renewal @lilo
Lilo PelekaiJan 12, 2022
beautiful thing - how long really depends on the center that treats your case. it used to take no more than 3 months but that all changed in August 2020. some service centers take longer than others, and you don't pick which center to apply to. USCIS picks for you. on average, 8 months. but that's the average.

@lilo pelekai. how long do you think it will take for a first time asylee application for ead (c08)
Lilo PelekaiJan 12, 2022
Emo Pant - that's really up to USCIS, pal. they changed a few things for asylum applicants in a way that everything now takes longer. in the best case scenario, 3 weeks. In the worst case scenario, 12 months and probably more. look at the processing time for C8 EAD in the service center where your case is to have an idea of how long it could take. ๐Ÿ™‚
