Are there any downsides of contacting USCIS about case status?
My I-485 has been pending for more than 6 months now. I am thinking if I should contact USCIS regarding the case status. Are there any downsides to contacting USCIS about case status?

@kur a I just raised a service request after my 6 window. did you get a satisfactory response from them when u raised a service request. or was it similar to what the Emma live agents says. I e case was last touched on xxx :)

PD is current. I am just curious to see if the case is in local FO. I am planning to switch jobs if it’s going to take too long.

yeah, you can use ask Emma on the USCIS website. ask for “live chat” and they’ll connect you w an agent that can let you know where your case is
