Approved Thank God🤍
Reading everyone’s post kept me sane during all of this process, so i promised myself that i would share my experience once we were approved. First, we are extremely thankful for this amazing blessing, but just try to be patient and optimistic your time is coming! I wanted to share a little bit of my experience throughout this whole process. My husband and I we’re scheduled for an interview yesterday in the dallas field office. We got there 15 min before our appointment (definitely recommend 30 min before because it’s like TSA and don’t know how many people will get there before you and need to go through metal detectors and all that). We went through the metal detector, checked in and headed up the stairs to wait to be called. We waited for 2 hours before they called us up for our interview. The lady we got was extremely kind and told us the reason why we were called for a interview is because we needed more stuff to prove it was a bone a fide marriage. We knew this was the reason due to my lack of status not allowing us to obtain a bank account together, have bills to my name, add me to the lease nor have paystubs that support we live together. Since i had gotten my work permit quickly i was able to set everything up (bills, bank accounts, lease and paystubs). We printed all of this evidence before the interview and had it ready. Once she asked for more evidence, i proceeded to give her the documents mentioned above. She then said perfect and moved on to our interview. The interview was very fast and simple, she only asked how we met and when we decided to get married. She then said “okay i believe you, i will approve your I-130 and I-485 today”. We were probably in her office a total of 10 min! We are extremely thankful to have gotten such kind and chill officer. Now we wait for my green card to get in the mail.
P.S.
I entered the US when i was 11 y/o with a tourist visa and overstayed it. I never left so there was no need for AP. i obtained 2 degrees (they say it helps your case because it proves you’re not going to be a public liability). No criminal record, did not need a lawyer however we did hire someone to do all the process for us. Hope this helps!
