Approved (Marriage Based GC)
I was approved shortly after my interview at the New Orleans FO. This community really helped me to calm my nerves throughout this process, I can't thank you enough! I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Good luck to you all!

@TK My interview was simple and the interviewer was courteous and very professional. It lasted about 30 to 45mins. We went through forms I130, I130A + the security questions on form I485. She asked me the following questions: - What what your status when you entered the US (J1) and did you complete your program of study? - How did you meet your husband and tell me a little bit more about your relationship. - When did you decide to get married and who's idea was it? She asked my husband: - When did you decide to get married? - What did you know about your spouse's immigration status? - Did you propose? Did you buy a ring? - Where and where did you get married? - Do you have any children? (We both chuckled and said NO to that). After that she asked if we would like to submit more evidence, which we did. She said she'll review it. We walked out of the FO around 1pm, and I was approved around 3pm.

@OB: To be very honest, when you have been in a relationship with the person and live with them, I don't think the officer can trick you. So go in there with confidence! Rehearse points that may raise suspicions from an immigration officer (red flags). For me, it was that my husband and I married "fast" (8 months into our relationship), 2months before my student visa expired, and he didn't meet my family in person before the wedding + they couldn't attend our civil ceremony (COVID). So we wanted to make sure we gave her an explanation for that, although she didn't directly question it. My husband forgets things that are not important (like what did we eat the day before, etc) but that an officer might ask, so I made sure he remembered that. Other than that, just be ready to tell your story, address red flag, and remember important dates. Your demeanor will show that you are in a bona fide relationship. All my best to you!

@Malik McCulloch: We brought almost all our originals (we are packing so there were some I just couldn't find), and I added the following evidence : - Joint tax return from last year - Joint savings account statements (12 months) - My past bank account statements showing that my husband was supporting me financially while I was waiting for my work permit (12 months) - Life insurance policy listing my husband as the 1st beneficiary - Plane tickets/hotel receipts from our travels together - New pictures (15) over the span of last year showing us together out of town, wedding anniversary, with his friends, with my family this Christmas and at his family events.

@Shade Olu: I only went for one interview, which was on February 24, 2022. On October 4, 2021, the case was ready to be scheduled for an interview. I don't know why it's showing like that. Apologies for the confusion.
