Thank you everyone for the comments!
To answer the questions I’ve been getting:
• I did not expedite my case or upgrade the category.
• My I-130 (F2A) was pending for over 18 months, and after discussing it with my attorney, I decided to file a writ of mandamus.
• Once filed, my case was approved in about 5 weeks.
For anyone in a similar situation:
If your case has been pending over 12 months, you can look into mandamus as an option. Based on current F2A processing times—often 3–5 years—I personally chose to spend around $2,000 to move the case forward rather than wait indefinitely.
Every case is different, so it’s always best to consult with an attorney, but this is what worked for me. Wishing smooth and fast approvals to all of you—your time is coming!

Congratulations! The issue here is that since your PD is not current, approval doesn't guarantee visa issue. Likely, NVC stage will just drag on for you since visa is not available, but please update us

Wow, huge congrats! 🎉 That was incredibly fast for an F2A case — April 2024 to approval in Nov 2025 is amazing. So happy for you and your family. Wishing you a smooth next step and a quick reunion with family!

Thank you everyone for the kind messages and questions! Here are the answers:
My wife and daughter are outside the USA, still in our home country. Their case is now with the NVC and I’m waiting for the visa interview date. My priority date is April 12, 2024, and since my country’s visa bulletin is currently at December 2023, I’m expecting around 3–4 more months for the interview.
Regarding the mandamus:
I filed the Writ of Mandamus through my attorney. I live in NYC, and the lawyer’s office is in Manhattan. If anyone needs help, feel free to reach out—most lawyers charge around $4k–$5k, but this attorney only charges $2k. This is my 7th mandamus experience, and every case was approved within 6 weeks of filing. I trust this attorney 100%.

I’ll check with my attorney first before sharing his contact details. I’ve requested his approval, and if he agrees, I’ll post his personal phone number here by tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for understanding, and good luck to everyone with your cases!

Did the nvc welcome you? And what floor are you on now?
Grace GJan 18, 2026
@f d Thank you for your comment. Yes, I received the welcome letters two days after the USCIS approval. I have completed all required forms and submitted the financial documents. My documents have been qualified, and the case has been transferred to my home country for the interview. I am currently waiting for the interview appointment.
