I am a US citizen, and I was oblivious to the process one encounters to become a permanent resident. After much research, I am no longer a novice in this process since I married my love in Ghana. I have learned that some countries have a higher demand for people desiring to migrate to the US. The war between Russia and Ukraine would be a great example of a surge in applications and people from Russia seeking asylum. However, Ukraine does not require a visa to enter the US. With that said, the backlog in such countries could be decades. This is a true story for many when war is not a concern. I cannot imagine the emotional stress Wilfredo experienced over the years, but I am so happy that he gets to be in one place with his wife after such an extensive process. Congratulations again!
