Applying for my dad
I am not sure why is it taking so long. My dad is a French citizen, resident in Mexico City (my sister and I are Mexicans). My mom died 3 years ago and since we both, me and my sister, live in the US we want to bring my dad to be close.
The weirdest part is that last week his ESTA was moved from approved to pending and now it was cancelled without any reason, he visit us often (1-2 times a year for about a week each time), he was here in in August with the NEW ESTA approved and now, no ESTA and no movement from the case. He has consistently traveled legally to the US since the 70’s.###
Any idea of what could be going on?

@S J I'm not an attorney, but after listening to many people's experiences, ur father's ESTA may have been canceled due to the I-130 filing, which shows immigration intent and conflicts with ESTA's purpose for short visits. I would contact CBP / Talk to a lawyer. Its almost free here on Lawfully

We “thought” the same, however, the case has been open since June 2023, he visited 1 week in 2023 and another week in 2024, with ESTÁ being still approved, we did send a message to CBP and they said to apply again, but now my dad is really stressed and doesn’t want to end up without both things.
I hope this case gets approved soon :(
