@Magic Magic I got approved and my case wasn't based on physical abuse and I didn't see a psychologist. That said, I had very good documentation because I had a journal and all as the advice from a counselor when I was still married. My lawyer helped me to understand how to phrase my experience so that uscis could understand my level of abuse so I'd say you need a good lawyer first and foremost. It also depends on the level of your abuse and what other documentations you have. Don't take this case lightly. Get a lawyer. Hopefully you can!

@Magic Magic Not legal advice but emotional and psychological abuse can be very traumatic as well. Dont feel ashamed to seek help because its not physical or because some people don’t take it seriously… the damage starts from within and some people internalize the pain… it can be bad… now imagine that, coupled with other forms of abuse… life can be hard… please get a pro-bono lawyer if you can’t afford to hire an experienced VAWA lawyer that has been successful with emotional and psychological abuse cases.

for me @Magic Magic you can get one done , but I don't really think it's necessary send text messages of abuse , if u have send proof of joint account, bills, their citizenship papers, car insurance policies together in both names. joint bank account, health insurance card with both names. letter from your pastor or family members, text messages, police reports pictures of u guys out. birth certificate of children if u have kids together. light bills in both names lease. that's what count..
