Apply priority date to I 485
I recently requested to update the priority date for my i140 using the older i140. It was successfully applied to my EB1. i filed my i485 8 months ago. And it does not have this priority date update on it. What do I need to do here?

@Vaibhav A How do you know the date porting was successful? And how did you request the porting of previous date to your I485 application? I am also in a similar state and not sure if my date was porter successfully

I sent a letter to USCIS and I received an approval letter for i140 that has the correct priority date

you should be good then. the priority date on I140 is what matters according to my attorney

You can. Send one more letter to USCIS—this time containing updated I140 and I485 having the old date. Request them to update PD based new I140.
Never assume they will update automatically without sending these as they handle millions of cases in
non digital format.
