I think a system update happened today and updated API stamp on all my applications including the EAD which was approved in May.
Can you please share if you had an API update today aswell?

@Ashley M I think this could be because they are now looking at your case for the last stage finally. Hopefully very good news very soon.
Bo sJul 16, 2025
@Ashley M I got mine updated as well, I think ours filed close enough. I guess they might be finally processing
Ashley MJul 16, 2025
@Bo s i do hope so but all 3 applications got the API update which makes me think its not a real update where someone looked at the case, because until now my I-485 got independent updates since transferring to FO
Bo sJul 16, 2025
@Ashley M mine crossed 210 days so hopefully they are processing! I am seeing most of them approved around 226 days average now.
Bo sJul 16, 2025
@Ashley M how long your application is in LA FO?
Ashley MJul 16, 2025
@Bo s My application got transferred on Jun-12 to LA, I am at around 195 day mark
Bo sJul 16, 2025
@Ashley M mine on June23rd to Manchester FO. currently Manchester is professing 1st week of June.
amdsk aJul 16, 2025
@Bo s How did you arrive at the conclusion that they are processing 1st week of June? Curious
Bo sJul 16, 2025
@amdsk a I have given representation to my senator and got a reply back with details from uscis
black blazerJul 16, 2025
212 days for me now. no api updates
Bo sJul 16, 2025
@black blazer whatās you PD and itās it ROW?
amdsk aJul 16, 2025
@Bo s Thanks!
black blazerJul 16, 2025
@Bo s - PD June 2021, India, how about you?
Bo sJul 17, 2025
@black blazer itās 2018
Ashley MJul 17, 2025
@Bo s I just noticed since the Jul-15 API update the location API URL no longer shows null for me and I can see the field office location there.
amdsk aJul 17, 2025
@Ashley M Thatās nice! Which location?
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@Ashley M - Great!!
Bo sJul 17, 2025
@Ashley M same with me I can see the location api is giving me back the data
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@amdsk a @Bo s @Ashley M - I'm seeing an api updates and the location api was also updated. it's at my local field office now.
is that a sign for an interview??
amdsk aJul 17, 2025
@black blazer not necessarily. It just means getting closer and closer to decision.
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@amdsk a - okay. hoping to see some traction soon. do you know when it's likely to get an interview? how soon would I know. any indications?
also checking what's needed for the interview
amdsk aJul 17, 2025
@black blazer Iām hoping no interview at all. If it does, they would schedule soon in about two weeks from what I know. Interview could be weeks out pushing final decision time.
so I hope no interview and itās just a straight approval.
whatās your field office?
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@amdsk a 1 - I am seeing on the location api subtype - "131A-HFIRA"
when I google this, it says - Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act
my COB is India so i am not sure if this !!
am I reading too much into it ?
amdsk aJul 17, 2025
@black blazer something USCIS internal. for us we need to look at Location tag. What does it say there?
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@Ashley M -
@Bo s
are you seeing this too
Bo sJul 17, 2025
I also see HFIRA same cob. we should not be worried about it
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@amdsk a - location tag = SNJ i.e. San Jose. i live a few cities away.
@Bo s - okay then! phew
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@Ashley M - checked all cases again. all 3 have the same api updated at timestamp.
EAD/AP was approved in May.
amdsk aJul 17, 2025
@black blazer Fingers crossed that no interview and approval soon. Good luck!
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@amdsk a - Godspeed!! thank you
Bo sJul 17, 2025
@black blazer SNJ is south New Jersey?
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@Bo s - Google says its San Jose
Bo sJul 17, 2025
@black blazer it looks like api is showing just the local FO location for everyone although your file might be in diff location, I double checked this with my other friend who is waiting. did you check with emma on your location ?
black blazerJul 17, 2025
@Bo s - interesting !!!
I am not able to contact Emma as per the employers instructions š so can't check on my own. only the attorneys can.
@amdsk a and other have clarified that I should be able to, even though they are the attorneys on record. I am not sure if I want to go ahead and contact Emma on my own.
the attorney won't follow up actively and their approach is wait untill USCIS contacts or sends a notice.
amdsk aJul 17, 2025
@Bo s are you saying location api always shows local field office but it might be non-local too?
Ashley MJul 17, 2025
@Bo s i think you are right about location being set to local FO i am seeing the same even though2 different emma agents confirmed that my case is at non-local LA FO
Bo sJul 17, 2025
@amdsk a yes, I cross checked this with Couple of friends who are also going through 485z location what you see is your local FO as default. actual location only emma can tell
amdsk aJul 17, 2025
@Ashley M @Bo s Did you call USCIS or chat with live agent via Emma?
Bo sJul 18, 2025
@amdsk a I chatted with emma and called with no use. same info that one say NBC some else else say FO. then I requested help from senator as it crossed 200 days. I got the reply from uscis that it is right now at Manchester FO with current processing at June 1st week. mine moved 23rd to FO
amdsk aJul 18, 2025
@Bo s yeah that makes sense. Tier 1 officers almost never provide accurate info.
api is more reliable but again it seems not 100% for field office location.
Sa VeJul 18, 2025
The location API used to return null for me but after the last update it started returning my local FO as the location in response.
Bo sJul 18, 2025
may be the last update is to make that api work for all š
amdsk aJul 18, 2025
@Bo s or there was an actual transfer that occurred in a batch but I could be wrong.
Bo sJul 18, 2025
@amdsk a ya atleast most of the folks are from dec to Jan timeline
amdsk aJul 18, 2025
@Bo s @Sa Ve @black blazer @Ashley M Maybe it makes sense to start a post with a poll and see how people reply. If that percentage is high, it would signal that it is just system. Otherwise, it could be case specific update.
Bo sJul 18, 2025
@amdsk a may be its time to all of us to create a live anon chat outside of this thread on some app š
Sa VeJul 18, 2025
Spoke to Emma agent and they said my case is still at NBC discrediting what the API is reporting.
Bo sJul 18, 2025
@Sa Ve what you see as location on api is your local FO.
Sa VeJul 18, 2025
yup true
black blazerJul 19, 2025
@amdsk a - thank you for setting up the poll. And looks like a lot of ppl are seeing the subtype as - 131A: HFIRA.
amdsk aJul 20, 2025
@black blazer yes but not sure what that is.
black blazerJul 20, 2025
@amdsk a - got it. not seeing anything on Reddit yet
amdsk aJul 21, 2025
@Bo s @black blazer @Ashley M @Sa Ve Based on my post for API vote and seeing that some people voted No to location API update, I think it is safe to conclude that it was not a universal update. Otherwise 100% would have voted yes.
I do think for those that transfer did occurr, it is defaulting to local FO and that part may not be accurate.
I think we should check with Emma or via phone call in about a week or two to confirm if case was transferred. I say that because those agents also see delayed updates of up to a week or more after something happens in backend.
Bo sJul 21, 2025
hopefully this week we should see good movement in approvals as they need to start using the spillover quota and most of us on this thread are closer or above 6months into it
black blazerJul 21, 2025
@amdsk a - thank you so the detailed note.
let's see what happens in the coming weeks.
@Bo s - my case is pending for 7+ months now. where are you seeing the spill over news ?
amdsk aJul 21, 2025
@Bo s I think we will see approvals but spillover canāt be used until Oct 1 (beginning of fiscal year). As long as PD is current, USCIS has to approve the case.
Bo sJul 22, 2025
@black blazer I crossed 7 months as well. really hoping something will show up by end of this month.
black blazerJul 22, 2025
@amdsk a - Oct is the start of the new year right ?
black blazerJul 22, 2025
@Bo s - yea I too am hoping for the same. let's see what happens. I'm not seeing any api updates too
amdsk aJul 22, 2025
@black blazer Yes Oct is the start of the new fiscal year
Ashley MJul 22, 2025
i am losing hope everyday with no update, so unfair that there is no order in place for adjudication
black blazerJul 22, 2025
@Ashley M - I totally relate with you. the wait is so overwhelming
black blazerJul 22, 2025
@amdsk a @Bo s @Ashley M - 7 months is the processing time for 485 employment based cases. acc to this USCIS page for FY 2025
https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/historic-pt
Ashley MJul 22, 2025
yes it sucks that we are at that time limit and there is still radio silence, specially frustrating because our PDs have been current for years now. My PD is 2017
amdsk aJul 22, 2025
@Ashley M @black blazer @Bo s Sometimes a senator inquiry can tip it in the favor. Just something to consider.
Bo sJul 22, 2025
@amdsk a I already did and got reply that itās with in 12.5 months and my application is at FO for a month now
Bo sJul 23, 2025
my theory could be wrong, if we donāt see the approvals before next bulletin , we might need to wait until October
black blazerJul 23, 2025
I guess the senators are also getting the standard response of 12.5 months - based on the field office processing times
amdsk aJul 23, 2025
@Bo s @black blazer @Ashley M Last resort is writ of mandamus. Yes you can file it if it has been 6 months. You can find a good lawyer and they will do it. As soon as it is filed, you will see case approved few days later.
Thatās the last feasible option.
Potential attorney: Greg Siskind Law Firms.
Never used them but I know they are good.
Just an option. Search your own attorneys too and get documents together in case you decide to go this route.
Bo sJul 23, 2025
@amdsk a you know how much they are going to charge ?
Ashley MJul 23, 2025
@amdsk a whatās the status of your case, have you tried writ of mandamus yourself?
amdsk aJul 23, 2025
@Bo s sorry not sure youāll have to reach out and ask.
You will have to weigh the cost vs peace of mind and freedom you will get once approved.
I would think you can recover the cost afterwards since multiple avenues will open up along with flexibility
Ashley MJul 23, 2025
i can no longer see results through location API it went back to showing
ā Nullā
black blazerJul 23, 2025
@Ashley M - I had checked earlier today and it was still showing SNJ for me.
Ashley MJul 23, 2025
@black blazer it was showing for me too earlier in the day looks like it just reverted, let me know when you check again
black blazerJul 23, 2025
@Ashley M - shows "null" when I checked again.
black blazerJul 23, 2025
@Bo s @amdsk a - how about you ? is it showing null ?
Bo sJul 23, 2025
same null. looks like they reverted the api changes that they have done by mistake to this case category š
Bo sJul 23, 2025
@Sa Ve @amdsk a @Ashley M @black blazer how long your applications are at FO now? mine 30 days today. Manchester FO. I am seeing trends between 5-7weeks for approvals
Ashley MJul 23, 2025
@Bo s I am at 6 week mark this week since transfer to LA FO
Bo sJul 23, 2025
@Ashley M max 2 weeks for you. I havenāt seen anyone waiting for more than 7 weeks at FO if interview waived for EB1A.
black blazerJul 23, 2025
@Bo s @Ashley M rechecking - did you get the confirmation for your cases from Emma - that's it's at the FO?
I got my RFE in April from the Hartford FO (non-local)
my local would be San Jose, CA (SNJ), do you think checking with Emma will be helpful as a lot of ppl are reporting that the case is still at NBC when they checked with Emma while the api was suggesting that it might be at the FO
@amdsk a - any advice
Ashley MJul 23, 2025
@Bo s that will be great but I am not getting my hopes up have been disappointed so far whenever I anticipate a decision :(
amdsk aJul 23, 2025
@black blazer Your biggest evidence that your case is at FO is the RFE from Hartford, CT. You can check with Emma and agent should confirm same.
I think Hartford hasnāt picked up your file since your response
amdsk aJul 23, 2025
@Ashley M @Bo @black blazer s Keep the energy positive. You guys are all at the tail end. I know itās hard but maybe focus on other things in life for some time. Approval will come soon for sure.
Ashley MJul 23, 2025
@black blazer I ask Emma almost everyday about my case location and the agent consistently says LA field office (non-local) for me
Bo sJul 23, 2025
I got an official response from uscis as a reply to senator escalation that my case was electronically moved to Manchester . so for sure I know itās at FO for 4 weeks now. I donāt have great experience with emma
Bo sJul 23, 2025
@amdsk a thanks for the advice I really donāt care at this point! let it take its own course, only thing Ian blocked on is not been able to travel internationally for work and conferences
Bo sJul 23, 2025
@Ashley M @amdsk a I found the reason for the last July 15th update. a mass update is done to update the task ownership. also confirmed that my case is at Manchester FO
amdsk aJul 23, 2025
@Bo s how did you find āa mass update is done to update the task ownership.ā?
Bo sJul 23, 2025
@amdsk a I called the call center, got a good agent who answered the questions patiently. he said on 15th there is a update that happens to change the ownership. my thesis is that files who are owned by people who are fired just sitting there until they are moved recently.
Ashley MJul 23, 2025
@Bo s thanks for sharing, so essentially when my case transferred to LA in June it went to an officer who was no longer working at USCIS and only in July it got assigned to someone who will look at it.
amdsk aJul 23, 2025
@Bo s Thanks - typical getting hopes high and then gutting. Patience remains to be the key for immigration.
Bo sJul 23, 2025
@Ashley M yes! atleast thatās my thesis connecting dots backward. IMO we must see an update in 2 weeks from now for sure. hang in tight with patience and donāt look at the case status š
black blazerJul 23, 2025
@Bo s - thanks for the info.
@Ashley M - I know it's super frustrating and overwhelming. let's just all hope we get through it together.
@amdsk a - yes given the RFE came from Hartford I'm assuming that my case is there. hopefully someone is looking at my file. on Aug 7 it will be 90 days since USCIS received the RFE response. I'm thinking of checking in with Emma after Aug 10th. let's see !!
amdsk aJul 23, 2025
@black blazer From what I know, they usually reply within 60 days from RFE. Iād consider reaching out to congressman/ senator.
Bo sJul 23, 2025
@amdsk a @black blazer I responded to birth certificate rfe 165 days ago. no repsonsw
Bo sJul 23, 2025
at this point there is no SLA for anything/ itās pure random and luck!
black blazerJul 23, 2025
@amdsk a - I guess the 60 day timeline is more for H1 and L1 RFE's and not for AOS
@Bo s - that's a long wait.
amdsk aJul 23, 2025
@black blazer yeah I think you are right
