AP Travel experience
Hello Everyone. I just returned back to the US ๐บ๐ธ 2 days ago. Travelled on AP and was out for 5 months. Arrived through JFK airport. No questions asked at primary. No questions asked at secondary. Less than 2 minutes. The AP is issued for the purpose of travel. If you have a clean record, please donโt hesitate to use your travel document. I am sharing my experience to serve others who might be in need. Stay blessed.

Staying outside the US for five months is not advisable, you could have received an RFE or a decision could have been made while you were outside.

@TJay . I was away for almost 6 months last year.(Check out my previous posts) Our circumstances and priorities are not the same. That said, to everyone with a clean record who has to travel with the AP, do not listen to any fear mongers. The document is issued for a purpose. Make use of it. Stay blessed.

@TJay . If you've a valid AP, you can live/travel outside US as long as you want provided that:
**AP remains valid upon re-entry to US;
**No bad record in/outside US;
**AOS I-485 PR application is not approved yet.
The condition of staying longer (6 month or 1 yr) outside US only applies to Lawful Permanent Residents/Greencard holders and AP holders are NOT included in it. Once you officially become an LPR (i485 approved), then be careful of staying longer (usually 1-year or more) outside US; as it triggers one's intention of not "permanently residing" in the US.

@alex rodi You need your passport and AP document. For added security purposes, I would carry the Notice of action for my USCIS cases and state ID. Goodluck.

@Hopefully hopeful when you AP document , you mean the combo card right?
