@Calif boy I think get another opinion from another civil surgeon. polio vaccine is required as far as I know unless you have antibodies confirmed from blood test.

@raza khan I would check that with my attorney, but on the version, it says use the one dated 3/9/2023.

@raza khan this is what I found on uscis 01/20/25. If the civil surgeon signs your form on or before July 2, 2025, you must use the 03/09/23 or the 01/20/25 edition. Starting July 3, 2025, USCIS will accept only the 01/20/25 edition. You can find the edition date at the bottom of the page on the form and instructions.

The Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, that you submitted is incomplete. We need additional medical information to complete your case. Specifically, the vaccination record section of the Form I-693 was incomplete. The civil surgeon indicated on your Form I-693 that you have not received the Polio vaccine because it is not age appropriate for your age group. However, according to the updated CDC Vaccination Technical Instructions, the Polio vaccine is age appropriate for your age group. Therefore, you have not received all required vaccines for adjustment of status. You must provide a completed Form I-693 from a designated civil surgeon with a completed vaccination record section.

yes same here. i was hoping for an approval but it’s a minor inconvenience. I just got my polio vac shot today and Monday I’m visiting the surgeon for paperwork. I have until Sept but I want to get it done, I’ll send the sealed envelope to my attorney who will prepare the response and send it to the local FO

@H K good, you have till Sept. i have till July end. 1. So, we need to send the rfe notice inside sealed envelope or sealed envelope should only have medical forms and rfe notice is outside but in same response package. 2. also, do we need send the original rfe notice or copy of it?

@Krishna G based on the USCIS website, after March 2024, polio vaccine is mandatory, so I would say this may cause rfe.

@H K @raza khan I did my form again. got sealed envelope. my civil surgeon said, the rfe copy (not original) goes outside the envelope. blood work was not performed as they said its valid for a year.

@raza khan @H K @amdsk @black blazer I sent the package to my attorney with a downloaded version (from uscis account) of rfe & print out. is that ok? because I received original rfe letter after I sent my package.

you should be good. did you check your api codes? is there an IKA event. I have to wait for my surgeon to come back into the country to send mine but keep me posted on how it goes. wishing you the best. I think inshAllah you will get approval quickly after they recieve the response

@H K the response is not yet shipped to uscis. i have shared with my attorney yesterday. are you saying my current api code should be IKA?

@H K Yes. IKA and FTA1 are on same dates. status on portal was rfe and then case is being reviewed. current status is : case is being actively reviewed.

@Cricket Smile same here it means it’s prepped for approval once they receive the RFE response and accept it. nothing else needs to be checked anymore

@Cricket Smile we received ssn 2 days after approval and then in a weeks we got the card

@ind l I haven’t gotten ssn card yet for my son (ssn was checked during 485 application). it has been 18 business days since card received.
