I really hope they give us an update on EAD sometime in February. Have a job offer with Feb 28 start date and feeling desperate.

I hope so too, because my studies end this December and afterwards I would like to find a good job! but without having the EAD no one wants to interview me either. I’m desperate! keep me posted on updates. so will I! we are right behind each other.

Hey guys, my pd is July 26th, Chicago field office, and I’m still waiting on my combo card and the interview letter. We even called and inquired about the advance parole since it is out of ordinary processing time, they told us that we will get an update within next 30 days since she made a service request. No news yet, and, it’s been more than a month! I guess I have to call them back?!

yes definitely call back. I’m going to call them tomorrow about the EAD and raise another expedite request

so, I went to chat with Emma and asked what the requirements are for expedite case for work permit. and she wanted to know what I have for an inquiry. so I said, well I can’t get passed a second interview with many companies because I don’t have a work permit. i wanted to know the requirements and what I would need to expedite my case. and the lady from the chat said an officer overlooking my case will take a look and takes 7 days. BUT I only wanted to know what I will need and what the requirements are. so now I am confused, what will happen ?

As I know, you can expedite the case calling your local congressman office and ask them to expedite the process, they will ask you for everything about your case and will guide you, please correct me if I am wrong but it is what I know.

it’s not about that. like what will happen if they say okay submit a contract or a job offer. but I don’t have these on paper / written because they say no in the interview already. I was just asking to see if that’s enough

Ohh ok, I got it, so employers should trust on your words, it is complex because they won't give you something in paper, but sincerely I think so companies should handle this.

what am I going to do with uscis now ? just tell them in an affidavit that’s what happened. because they can reach out to those companies if they want - right ?

@mac after how long did you get a response when expediting based on a job offer? my attorney sent them the offer I got last week, I didn’t hear back from immigration yet. 204 days since I filed and counting.

No news yet @dee, my attorney called then this morning, supposedly haven’t processed the expedited request yet. They did say that the case is ready to be scheduled for an interview, they are just waiting for a time slot.

Wow that was fast! I just got notified that my case is scheduled for an interview, no news on the work permit or advance parol. I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing?

let’s see - I have not gotten a physical notice yet about the interview appointment, I did take action and went to the medical now. super expensive stuff! wish me luck that I won’t feel too bad depending on what shots they want to give me

since it was a holiday they didn’t send it out. I’ll wait till Friday if nothing is there Friday I will go to the Ema chat. but I did schedule the medical exam already.

Idk what is happening, but our attorney told us that her other client who’s pd is end of November got his ead without expediting. I’t still waiting on mine, just like you are waiting on the interview date. They make no sense! Hopefully you get it sometime soon!

max didn’t you get the ead already expedite? was the travel patrol allowed with it as well? have you checked online if they made any adjustments? so if Marija is July 26 and you’re July 30 - you should come soon too, correct? I would give it another week. maybe there were a lot of people in that short window ? i really do not have a rhyme or reason of how they work honestly.

yeah @ Dee i got the EAD but it did not come with an AP. i didn’t apply for that. so need the green card to be able to leave the country lol

no you have go apply also for AP. it’s not the same as EAD

my ead letter I just got states that I am having the travel permit with it. that’s why I am asking. I filed everything together.

Some people apply for both of it, some don’t. If they do, it usually comes as a combo. Wait, Dee, you just got your EAD approved? No updates on mine yet!

it says decision made and I saw online that there is a document saying they will inform me when they send it out and it counts also as advanced parole (on my advanced prole there are NO updates)

@Dee it went well. The guy said the case seems approvable to him and that he will try to approve us the same day, but I didn’t get any updates yet. How about you?

:( he didn’t say that at all. our officer seemed very strict. he double asked multiple things. and my husband also was too chatty when he wasn’t asked. so I don’t know. he gave us a notice stating that the case will be held for review

he said “I will review the testimonials based on your testimony”

We got the same notice, I think they give this to everyone! Don’t be worried, give it few days.

I’ll try ! I’m glad yours went well. I mean I don’t know how much more real our relationship can be ? we are together for 5 years & we are trying for a baby :( sadly no luck yet. but once the stress is over it might work out.

I completely understand what you are going through! I truly hope that you will hear good news soon, as well as myself. Sometimes they just try to come off as rude and grumpy to scare you, so you would come clean. Five years is a long time, hopefully you get a 10 year green card.
