any advice for VAWA
me and my wife married for two and half year and we have approval i-130 with pending i-485.Aftter we get marriage she quick the job and I have to work for rent, foods and even her gas,cellphone, computer etc. I haven't received ead but I gotta working eleven hours for six day of a week.And now she fond some guys and dating with him all night(overnight) and she stealing money from our joint bank account many times.One time she punch me for not getting $1000 and I gotta pay for that.Today she try to take all the money that I have in bank account and try to move out with this guy. Could you please tell me what to do, how to file VAWA and any advice for good lawyers. I have all the evidences. I appreciate for you guys in this forum and wish all your dreams come true.

You should call a lawyer immediately. You can convert that i485 into vawa. Did you file a police report when you got punched? When did this happen? If you can’t afford one, look for local immigration charities.

@Soe Thein you need to divorce right away and proceed with abuse, keep all the evidences, but ask an attorney then decide, read the article on uscis.gov regarding abuse, those behaviors unacceptable and you are still eligible for GC, my friend had some issues, he divorced and got 10 years GC a year ago, good luck

please don't give advises that are not going to help him in this situation, @Soe seek an attorney as soon as possible and go to a shelter if you don't have any place to live. you can apply for vawa ASAP and document all the evidence you have from abuse, your wife going to a another man is not going to help in any immigration case. adultery doesn't count what count is abuse.

I don’t have any prove of video records.But I do have text messages in that hitting and also I have bank statements of every single money that she took.

@beautiful thing I will go see my lawyer this coming Wednesday and I will follow up. Since I have I-130 approval and pending I-485 is could be convert directly.

Don’t do anything before talking to an attorney. Just get whatever you think could be used as proof. I hope you overcome this!
