American Immigration Lawyers Association Conference 2023
The American Immigration Lawyers Association Conference 2023 is currently taking place in Orlando, Florida, where representatives from the Department of State, USCIS, and the Department of Labor are in attendance.
Their purpose is to disseminate updates, news, and developments related to immigration and to address any inquiries. During the conference, several comments, concerns, and questions were raised regarding the retrogression of the EB-4 visa category for Religious Workers.
Furthermore, forthcoming updates regarding the EB-4 category were also shared. Unfortunately, it is not feasible to provide an exhaustive list of these comments on this platform. Nevertheless, I encourage you to visit my Twitter account, Religious Workers Coalition, if you are interested in reviewing these comments.
Cheers.

Do you see any shred of good news regarding the EB-4? Will the retrogression end anytime soon?

The government is claiming the retrogression took them by surprise (I find that hilarious because the government themselves effectively fabricated the retrogression in the first place). They said the EB-4 category is an anomaly because varied groups are competing for scarce visas. They said only Congress could bring a quick remedy to the issue.
I made a post a few days back about DHS/USCIS allowing concurrent filling for EB-4. They reiterated that point today. This is some good news for new filers — they won't have to depart upon the expiration of their R1 visas. Nonetheless, it does nothing to help those waiting in line. A lot of other discussions were also tabled.
