I-601A approved, Documentarily Qualified. Am I safe from ICE deportation under new Trump guidance?
Entered the USA from Mexico in 2001 without being seen or processed by immigration. Married to US Citizen No criminal history I-130 approved in 2020 I-601A approved in February, 2024 Documentarily Qualified July, 2024 Awaiting interview in Ciudad Juarez Do we know if interviews in CDJ are still happening? Any increased risk going there now with Trump in office? I am hoping that, if I am picked up, once they see my paperwork that that I've been working through every step of the immigration process legally, either the ICE officers or the immigration court will show leniency. I'm so close! Based on what we've seen, I'm hoping for an interview date within the next 6 months. #I-601A #I601A #I-864 #NVC

@Esme Chavez Thanks. Just a bit nervous as I'm so very close and have tried to do the right thing and work through the legal immigration process. Biometrics were done May 2021.

Thanks.. people that I have talked to that have gone to Juarez say that they only ask a 3-5 questions all regarding to your spouse, name, where you met, how long you been married, things of that nature. You’ll do great, just be confident and try not to get nervous.

@Esme Chavez thanks for your replies. I'm not worried about the actual interview. I'm more concerned about what has changed and may continue to change now that DJT is in office. Is there more risk of deportation even though we've come this far? Will he stop this type of legal pathway to immigration completely? Will he slow the process of interview scheduling in Ciudad Juarez? Those are the things that concern me the most.
