Am I protected?
ICE is working around my community and I have vawa approved with deferred action.I have no criminal history but ICE is doing crazy things in recent months. Do I protect because of vawa approval and deferred action? And what to do when I face with ICE? Thank you.

you should have all your approval receipts and IDs with you. They could arrest you, but you have your right for processing. They focus on illegal immigrants and asylum seekers.

carry every papers you have that has approval and any ID’s if ICE will ask you just tell them that you are not illegal and you have papers waiting for your greencard

@pater s Every case is different and also I acknowledge USCIS stopped issuing deferred action but they reissued because of the judge ordered to do so.

@Naruto 🍣 you're not protected. But if you don't get in legal or traffic issues you should be ok. Also carry all if your paperwork with you.

@ines ines what do you mean by traffic issue?
i
ines inesFeb 2, 2026
@ayel yael if you get stopped or you get into an accident they can detain you if they feel like it depending on the state you're in đź«  basically don't get in ANY trouble with law enforcement
