After Vawa Approval
after your vawa is approved how long does it take to hear from USCIS about getting started on your GC application? I already had a active green card case from my marriage when I was married to my ex husband. once I filed for vawa my lawyer contacted immigration and let them know and they put the case on hold. my vawa was recently approved as of February 2024 and my lawyer sent USCIS a response that my case was approved. what is the time line to hear back? does anyone know or been in this situation before.

why would your lawyer send USCIS a "response" that your case was approved. I don't understand this. Doesn't USCIS know about that?

@Mrkvica M. it was two separate cases. I already had a pending case from marriage, so yes now my vawa is approved he had to make them aware because those are two separate field office. marriage based green cards and vawa cases are dealt with in two separate field offices

I got approved for vawa December 2022 and I just did my i485 interview 3wks ago.
