That is one of a kind. I have never seen anyone come up here with that story of their case being reopened after being approved. Do you have a lawyer? If you do, please seek legal advice on this.

contacted my attorney he got the approval notice for I 485 but still didn’t receive the letter for reopened and reconsideration

@dream: It’s possible the letters were sent before your interview. Don’t panic, you can call and get a verbal on the correct status of your case. They will tell you clearly when and what is going on. Did u check the date of the letters in relation to your interview date?

my interview was on Apri 21 and the approval and card production was on 23 rd. Then I got two notifications on April 30 and May 3rd.

@dream: Something is terribly wrong. Call USCIS and let them clarify what on earth that means. Sending conflicting msgs. Hold them to the Approval Notice. Somewhere in their system it was approved and they should not mess with you at all.

yes I did . They are waiting to get the notice, The only thing he got is the approval notice for I 485

hey! do you have any news? it happened the same to me! I got new card being produced, case reopened, and case approved, got the approval letters but never the card .. and then a letter with a second interview (Form G-56) …

I have no idea but after two weeks the status changed to card production.

same things is with case its been 7 months they reopen for reconsidering but nothing happen..mine is i751

This just happened to me and my wife. We went in for the apt yesterday. They approved everything and the portal said the card was being made. But this morning we got a notification that they reopened the case for reconsideration. We are freaking out! Any know what to do or what we should do. We haven’t received a letter of the notice yet. But just trying to figure out why the case was reopened.

even if you call they are not going to give a clear answer to your questions. They will probably say to wait for the updates.

Ya they never do. Which is why we are trying to see if there is something else we can do in the mean time. Or long did it take you to receive your notice to reopen the case in the mail. What other I for or reasoning did they give for reopening it? Is this something that you have seen come up recently? Just trying to figure out why they would reopen the case after already approving it.

Hi @dream my case is very similar to yours. First it said my new card was being produced, the next day it changed to case has been approved and then the following day “case has been reopened” I am so confused and freaking out. I know you got yours 2 weeks after.. Congratulations!! Should I just wait and see what happens? @Cam did you finally hear back from them?

@jess I have the same issue I received approval notice then they said case reopened for reconsideration 2 week later I was going this thinking it is just me let me wait and see what happens next

@jess, @Salma and others, what is the status of your case as of today? My case is similar too. I checked my status and saw my i-360 was approved, 8 days later, it updated case reopened for reconsideration. I have not received any letter yet from them, what should I do? I'm freaking out, someone please advise.
