Affidavit of support, I-864
My petitioner makes less than the minimum income the USCIS requires. I (beneficiary) make more than the minimum income (more than double). Can I be the petitioner’s sponsor? If not, does it have to be a relative to the petitioner? or it could be anyone, as long as the make more the minimum?

Unless you had a SSN before you got married which permits you to work and files taxes with another status and you convert to USC Spouse, you are not aloud or the requirements doesn't belongs to you... either your spouse- USC petitioner- or any USC/GC Holder Joints Sponsor are allowed to do so.

i wouldn’t bother with your income. just find a joint sponsor, much smoother and easier.

The petitioner has to be the person whose information is on the I-864. I suggest that you find a joint sponsor for your case.

my petitioner’s income was not enough to sponsor me, got RFE on that. I did fill the I-864a which is basically you are contracting to contribute to the sponsor’s income and got a cosponsor also just to be safe (it can be anyone) and got approved today.
