Advanced parole document was produced
Asking this question from those who got an standalone advance parol, travel document (no combo cards) I know many did not receive or received it late ( they never come back to give update) but if you received the card, how long did it take to receive tha card? is the document like an EAD with photo? did you get update on the status when the card was coming your way with usps?

The document is just an A4 sized document stating that you have been approved and you as the bearer is authorized to travel. The paper document will have your photo on it. As for the timeline, you will get an update when your document ships. I don’t know how long it takes from document produced to document shipped as I am still waiting for mine to ship. It has been a little over a week since mine was produced.

My AP was approved March 6th and on the 7th it showed that it was produced, I receive it March 13th, it is not a card like EAD, It’s a piece of a paper with your picture on it.

@Steph Romano thanks for Sharing this. Did you get status update when it was picked up by usps?

@Sara ... yes , on the 9th I received the last notification ! Hopefully yours get shipped soon, I don’t understand the mess that is that some of us gets things right away and others sit longer 😕

@Sara ... @Steph Romano @J B Is someone planning to travel outside the USA with AP? Do you know how long is allowed to stay outside the US?
Steph RomanoMar 17, 2024
@Sanja Zlatanovic I have used AP many times under a different category which had the exact amount of time I could be abroad, (max I was allowed was 3months so I stayed 2), but this one through AOS is good till 2029. I don’t think there’s an exact time, I might be wrong and be better to contact USCIS if you’re planing on staying out for an extended time ! most ppl I know go for no more than 3 months , green card holders are allowed to be out for 1 year, I would never risk it, there’s not enough info online. 😕

@Steph Romano Thank you for your response. I will definitely check with USCIS.

@Sara ... my AP was approved 22 days ago, on February 28 and the note of action that my attorney received says it’s valid for five years. Unfortunately in the application I don’t see any other updates. My attorney got no clue when I’m gonna get it. So we submitted an inquiry how long it took you to get yours after the approval?
