Congratulationss! Did you file your I-131 + I-765 in Oct and then file I-485 in November on purpose? or did you file 3 of them together in one day. Also guys, can someone file for only I-485 (green card) to adjust status, without filing for I-301 (AP) and I-765 (EAD)? if you feel you don’t need those; or must someone file the 3 together and is it considered best thing to do

@Sodo 11 I filed the i131, i765 and i485 at the same time. It is the best thing to do because once you apply for the i485 you cannot leave the country. The i131 allows you to travel, and the i765 is the permit to work. The i485 usually takes 6-9 months, the process is longer than the others.

Ooh that makes sense. Thanks much for explaining! Oh I didn’t know you can’t leave the country once you apply for I485, what if current EAD opt is valid and you have a valid F1 visa for rentry ?

@Lucio Mansilla @Sodo 11 I think that if your L1 has valid dates, you indeed can leave the USA and come back. worth double checking

@Lolo Messi @Sodo 11 that’s right! Some types of (valid) visas allow you to leave the country. In my case, I have an O1 visa, and that type of visa doesn’t allow to leave the country in the adjustment process.
