Adjustment of Status on B1/B2 Visa
Can anyone share with me their experiences of adjustment of status on a B1/B2 visa as the spouse of a legal permanent resident? I'm interested in knowing what our chances are in pursuing this route. My PD is 09/09/2020 at CSC. Since submitting our application for consular processing, we haven't received anything further than the receipt notice. From what we're seeing, CSC processing time is at a standstill so we'd like to consider adjustment of status and whether it's an option based on our case. I'd really appreciate the feedback. 🙏

Hi, if your spouse is a GC holder and you’re currently in the US don’t overstay your time given as it will not be forgiven. If you’re abroad it’s best to stay with consular processing

Chrissy B, thanks for your input. I'm currently in the US for the holidays and will be returning home this weekend. A family friend suggested exploring AOS so we've been doing some reading, but it seems it's not favorable for our situation.

hey Lisa, you’re right. it’s high risk and low reward. Most people who adjust status from a B2 are often denied and barred because it looks like you intended to stay and not visit.

if your spouse is not a citizen don’t do it, it will take longer, do the consular process it’s cheaper and easy

@ Gabi, I'm beginning to see that. @ Valeria, definitely going to stick with consular processing. It's the waiting that's getting to us, but our time will come. 🙏
