Actively reviewing
My wife and I submitted her i-130 in April of 2023. The same day we submitted we received notification that the case was received AND being actively reviewed. Is this unusual? Both updates say April 4th.
There have been no updates since we submitted, and our estimated processing time was showing 2 months in September, but then changed to “taking longer than expected”.

it’s not being actively reviewed on day 1. it’s the second active review that means an agent is actually looking at it
I’m in the same situation with my I-130 except mine never said “actively reviewed” but my 485 had that status after biometrics
it’s normal to hear nothing at this point. I submitted in May 2023

processing time on an I-130 will never be 2 months. the processing times on here as well as the USCIS website are not even close to accurate. I waited well over a year for mine to be approved and that was from within the United States and I concurrently filed my I-485 as well.

November 2022 here. No status since then.

Our case has said actively reviewing since our filing date in May 2022 and we still haven’t had any update. Buckle up, you’re in for the long run.
