Accepting a new call during the pending of I-485
Friends.
I know I am going to talk to the Attorney, but I am just throwing my situation, asking those who can share their wisdom/ experience, if they may be in the same boat.
Is it possible/ risky to accept a new call from the other church during the pending of I-485?
Of course, it will be the same denomination, and I will re-submit/ re-start my process for EB-2 (I think). Yet, my previous I-360 was approved with the current congregation.

@cc k Hi, are you still a non-immigrant? I mean still a valid R1 status?
cc kJan 30, 2024
@V N Yes, My R-1 status is still valid until 2025 (renewed one) while I got my combo card last year.

@cc k you can switch your employer, in my knowledge switching your employer takes your GC process more longer then now.

@V N Plz let ask for clarification—Do I need to re-sumbit my 485 again? Or I will get a new PD as I change my employer

at first your new employer file an R1 transfer, then “if” they(new employer) like to file an immigration petition they file I-360 for you, after approval of I-360, you remain wait(how long it depends) maybe your new Priority Date December 2024 or before maybe later(can’t predict) you should wait to file 485 until your priority date becomes current(Now it is May 15 2019) in the mean time your 2nd term R1 expires, in that case you have to leave US, it is very lengthy process now.
in my attorney words(in my case): you should remain keep with your employer for your speedy process of status adjustment.
think twice before switching

@V N Thanks much for your reply. What if we may take a EB2 route… What do you think?
V NJan 30, 2024
@cc k I don’t think religious workers go through EB2
