about taxes
my husband was a full time students back in 2021 & 2022
so the tax he paid is not sufficient according to the sponsor criteria .he is going to give the letter from college as a proof of being full time student to nvc for i864 .is it gonna bother to our case???

you need to provide tax returns of at least one year, three years is better, and he needs to make at least 125% of poverty guidelines. since he was a full time student, you need someone who makes that amount of money, a joint sponsor, who’s willing to fill out i864. otherwise you’ll be denied. I’m not an attorney, but these are the rules

@subu g https://www.uscis.gov/i-864
look at the checklist. 2022 is required, but providing past three years is better.

so yea, 2020,2021,2022 if you are filing it now.

I had the same case where my husband who was sponsoring me was a student and only had a full time job for half of the last tax year we were supposed to provide return for
so his father was the joint sponsor and it was all good

@subu g I’m not a lawyer and maybe you should ask a lawyer, they require only 1 year so you should be fine, but I heard that it’s better to provide 3 years of tax returns. the poverty guideline for a household of 2 is around 25K, it also depends if he made only slightly above it or he made a lot more (like 40/50k). I would get a joint sponsor just to make sure.
