yes you can

No. You must have your GC more than 2 yrs & 9 Mo. Doesn't matter how long are u married. The most important is when your FIRST GC was issued. My advice is check the uscis calculator to see if you're eligible to apply for citizenship. If you apply before your eligibility you might be denied and waste your time and money.

what if you’ve been here 5 years and married 3 then divorced would you file the n-400? @joshbigosh

Jill that’s for people who are still married to their American citizen spouse. They can apply for citizenship at 2 years 9 months even with a conditional green card or while waiting to remove conditions. If you are divorced it’s 5 years from the day you became a green card holder. sorry I should have been clearer

@jill Jackson The most important is: check when your GC was issued. If youre divorced you have to count 4 yrs and 9 Mo after your got your first GC. I always recommend to go to uscis calculator eligibility to see when you can apply for citizenship. I have seen many people who applied before the date and when get to the interview was denied because applied before the eligibility.

oh snap I ain’t eligible for that then :( but thank you for the clarification.

Don't worry. Divorce doesn't affect your citizenship as long as you marriage in a good faith.

how can I get become citizen with conditional green card even the Marraige is longer period ?
Josh bigoshJan 6, 2022
Long marriage is not eligible to citizenship. The most important is when your first GC was issued. You're eligible for citizenship if you're still married and have 2 yr and 9 months holding a GC. If you're divorced 4yrs and 9 months holding a GC

but even with condition green card ? @josh
Josh bigoshJan 6, 2022
As I told you. The eligibility start count when your first GC was issued. Doesn't matter if you got your GC yesterday but are married 20yrs. Google uscis calculator citizenship eligibility... You drop the date of your first GC and the website will tell you when can u apply.

@josh hahaha only if your willing to be my personal advisor! $10mth lol

Josh bigoshJan 6, 2022
Please accept my apologies. I don't know how vawa works and I'd rather not give you any advice. But I suggest you to chat with emma and ask one of the representative if they can explain when are you eligible for citizenship application.
