@USCIS, i came to realize getting a PF is not a final deal... they might ask you for more evidence of abuse, and you might need to send in a psychological evaluation from a therapist. But of course it all depends on what you sent initially.

@Liza Liza, omg! long time haven't heard from you? i hope you're okay. I thought of you not too long ago. If you get an approval, I will get some hope because your case is 6 months earlier than mines 🙏🏾

Mine is Jan 31st so am still counting wks or months before my I360 can be approved. I know most people that filed by themselves are counting 4 years already and no single approval.

@PeaceLove Freedom ~ Thank you! 😊 The April RFE was, Proof of joint filed taxes……I secretly made copies of the refund cheques yrs ago, so I still had those that I added to the RFE. USCIS wanted to know how many group therapy sessions I attended as well as how many one on one sessions I had, I was back in therapy at the time, so I got another Vawa letter to help my case. I also had to write an Affidavit about what I’ve learnt from Women in Distress.…….they said that I didn’t talk about what life was like living w/my ex, so I wrote a very lengthy & detailed declaration….I also had to write a declaration of our daily routines……….had to show more proof of a joint bill in our names. The only real bill that I have access to is the electric bill, but my name isn’t on the actually bill, but I’m on the account if that makes sense. I had an agent at the electrical Co. explain how that can be (account was already established, I was added after the fact). I wrote a letter explaining this, got it notarised & added it to RFE. I had an old statement from TMobil along w/a bill that he left me with. Even though I made payment arrangements w/TMobil’s collection agency they reported me too, they want an additional $400 to unlock the 2 phones which are now useless to me. I don’t think that’s fair, I’ve paid the bill off in full. Ummmm…..what else? There was also some discrepancy about the bank account statements I previously submitted. They said they couldn’t see a paper trail which showed we both had access. That’s the point……I don’t! He never gave me a debit card or any cheques. We did open up an acct after we got married. I had some money & we opened the acct. I thought we agreed it was going to be used to save for a condo, but he drained it & left me w/bank fees that I ended up paying. The acct closed yrs ago, but thankfully the bank had access & printed everything out, including the overdraft fees & when the account got closed. I think that helped me out a lot. It backed up things I spoke about in my declaration. I had to write ANOTHER Affidavit regarding good moral character. Basically, USCIS was questioning a few names that THEY believed I maybe going by. They provided a list of names & I addressed them all. One was my maiden name, obvious explanation. My married surname, my married surname spelled incorrectly & another name I’ve NEVER used/seen or been associated with……..I had a friend write a declaration where he witnessed some abuse……..that’s all I can remember….it was a lot. I’ll look for the RFE later & add anything I may have left out. hth 👍🏾

@Liza liza ~ I totally understand about working to distract yourself while you wait. I’m grateful that I got the EAD & I have a job. It’s a madhouse, but I’m working & gaining experience & saving along the way. You are right there. DO NOT give up hope. Stay distracted so you don’t do your head in w/worry. When we don’t obsess & think about something, that’s when you get the results you’re looking for. Detach yourself from the results. We already KNOW you’re gonna get the GC….it’s the not knowing WHEN that’s annoying. I’m confident that I’ll be reading your testimony shortly. 😉

@KP, why do you think some people get approved VAWA in 10 months?? what are they doing differently? or is it just luck? i know sometimes it depends on the officer you get... but also i was reading somewhere that if you already have a pending i-130 before that also helps....i think you continue with the same priority date? it can make sense... i also have a pending i-130 i was hoping to fall under that category but am 11 months in...🙏🏾 this office is so unpredictable!!! 😭

@God's good, yes! exactly, that is what the article said, and honestly it makes sense, why would you go back in line? as long your i-130 was not adjudicated, you should have the same priority date. But again, nothing follows procedure with this office 😭. Please confirm with your attorney, he should be able to know better than us..... but again, on my i-360 document priority date section is blank 😭.... I honestly don't know..when did you file your vawa?

@Leo Lance ~ I always thought that the folks who got through faster, were the applicants w/a lot of evidence or maybe their cases were just open & shut. I think if you send a lot of supporting evidence w/the initial filing, that makes a big difference instead of them having to send out RFE’s. It’s the response that takes up most of the approval time line. I I was told that when I filed my I-485 in 2018, I would keep that priority date. It wouldn’t change. The main focus is to have the I360 approved THEN they will link the I485 to your Vawa case, IF you asked to hold your I485 in abeyance. if you didn’t, then that’s when you would file for the I485 if you didn’t file it already w/your Vawa.

@ K P my lawyer made me bring all RFE”s that was why l said my next rfe should be my medical. Also, l dreamt that my i360 was approved l pray it comes to past cos my revelation is alwys on point. I just wish l can travel with my AP to my country, but fear of not being allowed entry is killing me. My lawyer said am good to go.Fear of the unknown .😀

Leo lance....do u have an advance parol ? if u do....u can travel as long as u don't stay more than a month or have a criminal record or in removal proceedings. I did it and came back

I am trying to figure out why it took such a long time for you. can she not come on visitor’s visa and you get married and apply for a greencard or some status here?

God's good......it is vawa based. but now I have my permanent residence so I don't need that anymore. but it is totally safe to travel with advance parol considering all the factors I highlighted above . thanks

@krish90, don’t worry, you will get your approval soon 🔜. My rfe was received on the 2nd of September and I got approval on the 22nd of September. Even though I was told by the filing lawyer that it will take 2-3 months. it’s well with you

@hope in justice, I received a deficiency notice and fingerprints updates on my 485 but I was told in the notice that I didn’t submit medical during my filing so if I have an interview they will ask me to come in with it or if no interview they will send me another notice requesting just for my medical, but I should not send it in without them requesting for it cuz it will delay my case

Wow everyone l was shocked to see someone’s vawa got approved in 9 months, her lawyer called her and broke the news to her l was dazed all through. Whoever is the USCIS behind her 9 months approval, God l want mine to be better🙏🏻. She will be going for her interview soon😳

@victory gotcha. how long after approval notice you received the deficiency letter? I submitted my medical exams but it was in 2019 when I filed along with my AOS. I think they will ask me to do another medical exam since is already past 2 years …

@ God’s good if you say mist people are not doing the right thing like they are only doing it to get the GC, so where will they get the RFE’s docs from ? eg bank statemt, insurance, utility bills and rental lease atc ? Cos l know it cant be forged. Like @ Krish90 said leave them to the USCIS. I know a lot of people that did what you are talking about and today they are Citizens l just do not feel comfortable with it.
