7yrs, applied, denied alas! APPROVED!
This is one of the most daunting journeys of my life.
Will provide full updates on what worked and what never worked!
Background: B1/B2 2017 overstayed for 1 month. Married my spouse in 2017.
Filed AOS 2018(i130, i485, i765 and i131) took more than a year to get my EAD Combo card!
First interview (1hr)
8months after stokes, went in first, grilled and over grilled!
Long silence of 1 year after stokes.
Reached out to Senator, WH and Rep.
NOID
A year silence
Reached out to Congress again
Denial!
2023 Refiled without any appeal
2025
Approved!
What works:
- It is one of the most frustrating things anyone can go through especially if your case is not straightforward.
- Do productive things: School, Certifications, Business etc
- Nothing like too-much evidence!
- I understood how the USCIS API works
- There are some undiscussed evidences to corroborate your case that no one talks about.
- Upload unsolicited evidences is gold!!! They use a CMS and your adjudicating officer will see them once he’s looking through your case.
- It is not just about uploading pictures, are the marking clear for locations and labeling?
- Letter of support templates must not be generic! Must be super unique for each person
- Ditch documents (previous rel) from your home country esp if USCIS has no way to verify such.
