485 with lawyer or without lawyer in Newark, New Jersey?
I am not sure if I will be asked for interview or not. my lawyer who originally was in California is now retired and she sold practice to another firm that is pretty much useless. Now I moved my case to Newark, New Jersey as it is closer to where I am currently. if I am called for interview should I take a lawyer with me? Doee anyone know of a reasonable lawyer in New Jersey or New York. I had my 485 applied through marriage linked to VAWA, I am not sure that in this case if they will send Greencard directly or will they give interview. any idea?

@Mrkvica M. thank you! that is why I thought of checking and proactively finding one. my current lawyer is useless, I told her my vawa is approved and she replied after 20 days and now I don’t even know when she plans to send my approval notice that got sent to her. she literally does not care.

it’s upto you if you want a lawyer, if you think you have a complicated case get a lawyer if it’s straight forward you don’t need one. lot of people have done it without lawyers

Once your VAWA has been approved, they will surely give you your GC. If you can afford a lawyer go with one. However, you can go alone
