3rd FTA0, no silent updates
I noticed a 3rd FTA0 on my case, no silent updates at all. No new documents in the Documents tab.
Case status is still "Case Is Still Being Processed By USCIS".
EB2-NIW ROW
Currently on H1B, did not apply EAD AP
485 filed with spouse as dependent
- PD: Nov 2023
- Received: Oct 23, 2025
- Biometrics: Nov 18. 2x FTA0 same day
- Non-local FO: Dec 23
- 3rd FTA0: Dec 27
1. What does this third FTA0 mean?
2. Is FTA1 the next event to expect?
3. Do we know that there's no interview needed yet?

the third FTA0 usually means you might be getting a decision soon. you don’t need a FTA1 before an approval. FTa1 usually means a supervisor had to look at the case. you can ask emma but make sure you speak to a live agent. wait some few more days to see if you get an approval

@Mrs Mrs I got 3 FTA0 on the day of biometrics, while spouse had 2 ftao. Submitted on Oct 02, 25, eb2-niw. Any thought's on that? thank you.

@Mrs Mrs my wife primary applicant on eb2-niw row and we had biometrics on 24 november, same day my wife had 3 fta0 while i had 2fta0 and december 10 me and my wife had 1 silent update. what to expect next could you please advise your thoughts?

@Uchi ha Immediately after biometrics people usually get 3 FTA0s for I-765 and 2 FTA0s for I-485. So likely the 3 FTA0s you got is likey for the I-765 which is the ead. it is the 3rd FTA0 for i-485 that shows up close to a decision

@Guven Yurek See my previous post above. maybe the 3 fta0s is for the i-765 and not i-485. make sure you are checking out the correct case numbers

As per my experience, if you have a silent update after the 3rd FTA0, your case status will change to approved the next day. You should get a "H008" as the status code after approval.
You might not need an interview. Emma did not help much either.

@Mrs Mrs Thank you. but actually its the other way for me, I have 3 fta0s for i-485 and 2 for i-765.

@Uchi ha That’s interesting. Never seen that. usually the other way. checking api and seeing differences causes stress. the main thing is an approval. so hopefully we all get that soon

So my 3rd FTA0 came post-transfer. Is this a good thing?

Our case is transferred to San Fernando Valley non local FO, as per 12/23 API update.

@Mish Mish when you open chat with Emma, there is an option Connect to live agent, it will ask some details and you will be connected to an agent.

its weird though!
i got 3 FTAO for my i-485 and 4 FTAO for my i-765, all immediately after Biometrics. And my PD is not current per FAD

Thank you @Uchi ha I knew about the API and I have been noticing some updates on my I485. However, I don’t know the meaning of FTAO as everyone is saying it.

@Ramon Adegoke FTA0 seems to mean someone reviewed your case and likely you may be getting a decision soon. not all the time though.
