You are right this is so unfair I’m 2 days behind you and this is killing me, this is not okay and there’s nothing we can do but wait 😩
ENAR KNov 5, 2024
I hope yall hear something soon 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I pray we can all be reunited with our families soon. this process is truly draining for all!
Myko HNov 5, 2024
The election makes me nervous too. i130 green cards reduced a lot between 2016-2020. That freaks me out.
Mr. PatelNov 5, 2024
@Kiki Gonzalez are you aug 13th ? Vermont?
we are August 16th Vermont CT1 and still waiting
Mr. PatelNov 5, 2024
@Jacob Needham keep praying 🙏
hope we see it soon
Jacob NeedhamNov 5, 2024
@Myko H this was overall greencard because of covid however trump prioritied cr1 visas and marriage visas etc during covid, all the other greencard visas were put aside because he put families first

@Jacob Needham @Kiki Gonzalez and everyone else wishing best of luck, it’s so unfair to keep families away from each other during this, hope this election makes it easy for all of us suffering and being away from loved ones for months and even years :(
Myko HNov 6, 2024
@Jacob Needham maybe he did during covid but even before that, i130 approvals were down a lot starting in 2017.
Jacob NeedhamNov 6, 2024
@Myko H spouse cases were being approved a lot faster back then, trump is all for immagration when done legally
Kingsley BNov 6, 2024
@Jacob Needham Hi, I have not come across your posts or comments before. I see you are Austrailian. I am Canadian but I am doing a AOS.
I feel like people are being very reactionary with this election and have the wrong ideas about how it could affect immigration.
From my perspective, it will not affect marriage based immigration. Many countries around the world have strict immigration policies, including Canada and Australia. I lived in Costa Rica for a while and I have been to much of Latin America. I looked into immigration in some of them and it is not easy.
I do want the best for everyone and if people are immigrating legally or are actually real asylum seekers, then I do not see a problem with stricter rules.
I feel that the media organizations are very much against Trump and try to sensationalize his ideas/statments.
E RNov 6, 2024
@Kingsley B to some extent it will. The petitioners who do not meet the income requirements to sponsor will be affected. One of his main proposals is to remove the joint sponsor which means the application will be denied. Adjustment of Status will also be affected. If you are married to a citizen, but was out of status at any given time, you wont be able to adjust status. He will do it. He has a mandate. Just watch
Kingsley BNov 6, 2024
@E R I do feel that people should be able to have a joint sponsor. I hope that does not happen.
The current law allows people who have overstayed to be allowed to adjust status. Do you mean if the person had been here illegally at some point?
E RNov 6, 2024
@Kingsley B he plans to remove the joint sponsor because he feels the petitioner should be able to financially support the beneficiary. He feels having a joint sponsor the persin might be a public charge. And yes for AOS if the benefiary overstayed their visa even if they came in legally, wont be able to adjust status here. With JD Vance behind him, he will do it.

@Jacob Needham I know that's what's being said but immigration attorneys are telling a different story. I listened to 2 live yesterday explain what they experienced during his last term and what they expect this time. Processing times went up, the application became longer, denial rates went up, RFEs increased drastically, denials without explanations were seen as well. I hope they're wrong but they're basing it off of how he affected the processes last time.
Jacob NeedhamNov 7, 2024
@Myko H they went up because Covid also happened, the only cases that were still processing were spouse and marriage cases, people who were stuck in the US decided to get married and stayed there, it caused a massive backlog etc
Myko HNov 8, 2024
@Jacob Needham on a better note, I've been seeing a lot of August 2023 filers getting approved so you should be close!
Jacob NeedhamNov 8, 2024
@Myko H yeah but we are August 11th and haven’t had anything done
